TUITION ASSISTANCE

CATHOLIC SCHOOL TUITION ASSISTANCE

Currently, the parish may offer student tuition assistance for grades 1-12.  To receive tuition assistance, there must be evidence of a serious commitment to the spiritual and/or financial well-being of the parish as well as a reasonable financial need on the part of the family. The pastor may request to meet with the families requesting tuition assistance or establish requirements to demonstrate commitment. Each case will be reviewed and, after consultation with the pastoral council and finance council of the parish, and communication with the family, the amount of any approved tuition assistance will be sent directly to the schools.

NOTE: Faith Formation for First Penance, Holy Communion, and Confirmation, according to Church law and diocesan policy is to be received IN THE PARISH whether students are in Catholic schools, public schools, or homeschooled, since this formation, although related to the faith-based education received in Catholic school, is distinct from it. (This does NOT mean that Catholic school children preparing for Sacraments of First Penance and first Holy Communion will be obligated to attend all Faith Formation sessions for their grade level, but rather an abbreviated preparatory formation specifically for the Sacrament to be received.)

AFTER receiving Faith Formation for Sacraments AT THE PARISH, families may request, in writing, to receive these Sacraments apart from the ceremonies celebrated within the parish. This permission is given entirely at the discretion and good will of the pastor, and MUST be obtained in writing. If the permission is granted, a copy will be sent by the parish to the school and the celebrant of the Sacrament.
